We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Male* Peer Support Worker (PSW) to join our friendly and passionate Healthy Together team, covering East and West Suffolk.
Our team is already making a significant difference in the lives of people living with severe mental illnesses (SMI - Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Psychosis).
As a PSW you will join our small, friendly team to provide emotional and practical support through personalised planning to people living with SMI. Drawing on our own lived experience, we aim to give people a sense of hope and wellbeing, supporting people to gain more control over their lives. Your role will involve assisting people in achieving their physical health and wellness goals by providing practical help for attending healthcare appointments and fostering connections within their local communities and beyond.
What truly makes our work special is the strong rapport and trust we build as peers.
* There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 (1) of the Equality Act 2010 for the post holder to be male, as our service users require a choice of both male and female staff to ensure a safe and supportive working environment.
