Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is looking for a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level in Aseptic Services, Band 5, 1wte, 37 Hours (Weekend and public holidays rota commitment included).

About the Role:
As a Pharmacy Technician (Higher Level) in Aseptic services, you will play a key role in the Aseptic team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. In this role, you will:
1. Support the training and development of the Aseptic team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
2. Support the ongoing development of the Aseptic service.
3. Ensure safe and efficient provision of specialist sterile medicines, including chemotherapy, intravenous and intrathecal injections, and nutritional infusions to adult, paediatric, and neonatal patients.
4. Ensure standards of work are adhered to by staff and develop practices as necessary to comply with National standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.

About you:
Candidates must have the National Certificate in Pharmacy Services and Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent. They should also have completed the HN unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before) and HNC Pharmacy Services Development and Management or demonstrate equivalent competence. Candidates will be required to evidence registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the application form and at interview.
The PACT qualification is essential as this role incorporates aseptic checking technician duties - support will be given to complete this qualification whilst in post. Good team working and interpersonal skills are necessary.
