About You: We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and forward-thinking person for the role of Practice Leader within Supported Living Cornwall to support ‘R’ who lives in his own home in St Agnes. You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice. You will lead the principles of “nothing about me without me”, ensuring the supported person’s voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review. About ‘R’ He is a young autistic man, he is full of fun and vitality and who enjoys nothing more than being out all day everyday – he is very active Can you walk for miles to keep up with him? He likes being outdoors come rain or shine. He is up for all adventures to include paddle boarding, zip wiring and wall climbing & horse-riding. ‘R ‘has a passion for cars, trains and buses. He is a sociable young man who struggles at times with boundaries and needs consistency and patience to support his understanding that not everyone is his friend – shop staff and transport staff all know him well and will often give a cheerful wave and tell him their names. ‘R’ has his own car to support him to get the most out of his community. ‘R’ thrives from having structure and routine, knowing what he is doing each day and who he will see is very important to him. Planning with him and using various ways to communicate his week with him is vital. He sees the world around him as unpredictable and sometimes frightening. The team know things that cause him to be anxious and understand and support any behaviours that cause him distress. ‘R’ has an infectious personality and has a busy week with his team.
