The Role: Housing Support Assistants provide a welcoming, initial interface as the first point of contact for all housing enquiries from a broad range of stakeholders, including University staff, students, visiting scholars and private sector landlords. With a sound understanding of the leasing process and tenancy management, they will provide supporting information and advice as required, supporting prospective University tenants through the application process and making the customer journey as simple and effective as possible. This role will represent both Housing Services and key responsibilities include; providing prompt, professional and informative responses to all enquiries; identifying housing options and signposting customers to both internal and external solutions as appropriate; confirming the eligibility of customers for University housing and advising on the application process; supporting the advertising and marketing of all University housing, as well as handling enquiries for the private sector and Colleges. About you: In order to succeed in this role, you will join us with Demonstrable experience in a customer facing role, used to managing a broad range of enquiries and operating in a customer focussed, reception environment. An ability to rapidly assimilate information and processes in respect to the University, the Cambridge property market, and Housing Services processes. An understanding of UK tenancy management processes and procedures, including a basic understanding of Housing Legislation. Clear, confident and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. An ability to identify specific Housing issues and needs and deliver tailored solutions accordingly. Competent in the use of Microsoft and database packages, including tenancy management software systems.
