Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, polite, confident, resilient and organised individual to join the Paediatric Outpatient Service as a Healthcare Assistant. You will be expected to have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with the numerous patients that visit outpatients on a daily basis. Be able to work without constant direct supervision using initiative within the level of competence for the post. Act as a role model at all times, reflecting the Trust values and behaviours and delivering high standards of care. Be self-aware and open to receive and learn from feedback. The successful candidate will undertake a range of clinical duties to promote patient safety. Other duties include completing mandatory training. Main duties of the job To provide a high standard of individualised compassionate care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times, their privacy and dignity. To assess patients using observations and relevant safety tools. To identify abnormal findings and to ensure appropriate escalation process takes place To use the computer systems to input patient care. To be skilled in Phlebotomy. To communicate to the patient and parents/carers about their OPD journey To work along side the nurses, AHP and doctors within scope of practice. General housekeeping on the unit.
