WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is not a role restricted to a fixed playbook or limited to a narrow set of specific skills. It gives the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of product delivery from initial concepts to the finished vehicle. Spanning the entire breadth of Chassis commodities including axles, suspension systems, wheels, and brakes, and all areas of hardware design, software controls, mechatronic systems integration, and dynamic vehicle attribute delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
The Chassis Technical Project Engineer is responsible for pulling together all aspects of Chassis delivery from across the business. Working alongside and guiding Chassis component delivery teams and cross-functional groups through the technical delivery of systems and components. This will include, but is not restricted to, activities such as:
* Supporting both technical and non-technical issue resolution to ensure the delivery of vehicle features and attributes.
* Aligning designs and plans with non-engineering functions including Marketing, Purchasing, Finance, Aftersales, and Service.
* Working with external engineering teams and suppliers to deliver world-class designs and components.
* Integrating with Manufacturing and plant teams to ensure robust and smooth assembly of an incredible finished vehicle.
* Strong communication skills – delivering clear and concise information to all levels and areas of the business.
* Strong teamwork and leadership – building strong working networks and bringing individuals and teams together. Leading the way through complex challenges to overcome any obstacle.
* Robust decision making – Using data and plans to form recommendations for the whole team to follow.
* Bringing passion – Every day. To everything you do. Inspiring the people around you.
* Whilst useful, this role does not require detailed knowledge of Chassis or automotive systems. However, it is an engineering role and a technical background and mindset is needed.
Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when, and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.
Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you're interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people's ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.
