Ocean Infinity is seeking a Geotechnical Operations Lead. The Geotechnical Operations Lead will oversee and manage the geotechnical operational teams within the Subsea Operations Team, ensuring high standards in operational delivery, equipment availability, operational efficiency, and technical expertise of geotechnical equipment deployed, such as our new developed Ocean Drills, CPT 100 and CPT 250 and Sonic V ibr o C orers. This role is pivotal in building a pool of Geotechnical payload operators that are trained and competent in the operations of our CPTs, vibr o corers and Ocean Drills with a focus of controlling our payload s from our Remote Operating Center ( ROC ) in Southampton. This role involves guiding Ocean Infinity’s geotechnical operational initiatives that support the organi s ation's strategic goals, with a focus on quality, innovation, and effective team leadership. The Geotechnical Operations Lead reports into the Head of Subsea Operations and works closely with Technical Asset Management Teams, particularly with the Geotechnical Product Group, ensuring real-world operational feedback comes back to the Geotechnical Product Teams and works closely with the G eotechnical Service Delivery teams, in particular with the Geotechnical P roject Manager and Lead Geotechnical Engineer. What will you do: Building a pool of geotechnical payload operators trained to operate our CPT’s, vibr o corers and new ly developed Ocean Drill, both from a locally operated perspective on board our Armada vessels and from our ROC in Southampton; Develop payload technicians that carry out maintenance on our geotechnical payload system while offshore onboard our Armada vessels; Training operators that are new to this industry for full remote operations of all of Ocean Infinity geotechnical payload utilizing our advanced ROC; Ensure operational feedback is generated and passed back to the Technical Asset Team, in particular Geotechnical Product group; Liaising closely with the Geotechnical Service Delivery Group in ensuring high quality sample acquisition s and data generation for our clients; Work closely with technical solutions group to roll out full remote operational control of all geotechnical payload systems; Work closely with our P ayload I ntegration Teams mobili s ing Geotechnical payload on our Armada vessels; Building a pool of operators trained in the commissioning and subsequent operations of our Ocean Drill, including the related back deck handling systems (OD supersystems); Ability to build and document scalable operational processes across all Geotechnical payload operations Who you are: You have extensive multiyear experience in geotechnical equipment, including CPTs, VCs and drilling systems, deployed from vessels on a global basis. You are a team player able to work closely both horizontally and vertically in the Ocean Infinity organisation. You strive to build and lead a Team of geotechnical equipment operators and technicians, some experienced and some new to this industry. You embrace the remote controlled vision of Ocean Infinity, where our Geotechnical Payload such as Ocean Drills, CPT’s and vibr o corers are remotely controlled and operated from our Remote Operations Centre (ROC). Salary for this position: Up to £120,000 per annum Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
