Alfa Leisureplex Group has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team based at our Central Office located in Euxton, Chorley.

About the job
As a management accountant working as part of the Alfa accounts team you be will responsible for overseeing the accounting function of Alfa Travel Limited and Alfa Coaches Limited. This includes production of management accounts, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner and day to day supervision of 2 Accounts Assistants.
This role is office based, predominately working 5 days per week Monday- Friday; with flexible hours in place. The salary for this role will be based on skills and experience; with a salary range of £40,000-£50,000 per annum dependent on the candidate.

The main responsibilities are:
* Produce quarterly management accounts (planned transition to monthly management accounts within 6-12 months) for the Alfa Travel and Alfa Coaches companies including analysis of variances to budget/forecast
* Manage transactional activities across the Alfa Travel and Alfa Coaches companies, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulation
* Train and support team members in recording and reconciling transactions, maintaining high standards for accuracy and timeliness
* Strengthen internal controls and improve processes across finance and the wider business to ensure integrity, completeness, and timeliness of reported figures
* Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements, accounts, and financial records to ensure accuracy
* Support year-end accounts production and audits, and lead ad hoc projects for improved efficiency and automation
Key skills and experience
* Relevant finance qualification (ACA / CIMA) or relevant QBE essential
* Big 4/ Top 10 practice experience desirable
* Experience in managing a team
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential, experience working with large sets of data desirable
* Overseeing the purchase ledger process
* Cash management experience
