EQUANS Job Opportunity: SHEQ Advisor
EQUANS is looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join our team in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a part-time role working 18.75 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £16 - £18, depending on skills and experience, along with a benefits package.
What will you deliver?
The main purpose of the role is to support the Company in the operation of systems (ISO, ISO & ISO ) covering the effective management of safety, health, environment, and quality:
1. Understand, adhere, and implement the company SHEQ policy/strategy.
2. Support in ensuring the contract complies with the EQUANS management systems and company standards (including statutory requirements), providing relevant guidance and advice.
3. Support in achieving standardisation across the region.
4. Undertake active monitoring and auditing of the company's sites, providing feedback via the company's reporting system.
5. Support the effective close out of corrective actions raised, open incident reports, and significant site issues.
6. Assist in the development of risk assessments relating to SHEQ.
7. Assist with investigating incidents.
8. Liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary.
9. Respond to requests for advice within the job holder’s area of expertise, through discussion with the Senior SHEQ Manager and others where appropriate.
10. Work alongside the contract team as the H&S professional and provide real-time support independently, including attendance at relevant contract meetings.
11. Support the SHEQ team with implementing and communicating initiatives (e.g., Monthly Briefing sheets on the contract).
12. Provide monthly reporting (including SHEQ statistics) for the contract.
13. Deliver inductions to new starters.
14. Keep up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry through regular reading of journals and relevant websites/site visits.
15. Ensure competence levels are maintained by attending required training sessions and workshops.

Who are we looking for?
1. NEBOSH General Certificate in H & S and/or equivalent.
2. Relevant experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
3. Up-to-date knowledge of UK legislation in relation to SHE, ability to interpret legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
4. Good verbal and written communication, numeracy, and influencing skills.
5. Report writing skills.
6. Ability to work remotely.
7. Good at developing relationships with Operational leadership.
8. Flexible, able to work at all levels and at hands-on level.
9. Demonstrate up-to-date CPD.
10. Computer literate in MS Office.
11. Full, clean driving license.
