* Advise on, and support the business in relation to risks in relation to third party contracting
* Supervise and mentor junior team members in relation to contract drafting and legal advice
* Develop and maintain great working relationships with third party and sourcing managers as well as key business contacts, in Capital One UK and where appropriate within our US parent company
* Advise on financial services regulation specific to third party contracts, escalating to our legal regulatory specialists where necessary
* Identify and assess the impact of new laws related to contracting and train other business areas where appropriate
* Manage your workload in a timely and effective manner and proactively communicate to stakeholders on progress
* Advise on data protection aspects of contracts, including international data transfers
* Ensure contracts procedures and policies are followed and risks escalated
* Own your own development and support the development of others within the business through feedback, coaching and mentoring.
What we're looking for
* Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Excellent self-organisation skills - detailed planning skills and management of workload pipeline with a proactive approach to conflicting priorities
* Great team working - across our supplier and sourcing managers and our broader Legal department and throughout our business' multi-functional teams
* Genuine focus on delivering a best in class legal service to our business
* Confidence in networking and relationship building
* Proven track record of delivery with a results focus
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to our changing business needs
* Forward thinking on continuous improvement of provision of legal advice and contract drafting
