What is the role?
The post holder will focus on providing day to day oversight of a range of activities including quality improvement, practice development, standards monitoring, SSSC and Mental Welfare Commission (MWC) requirements and the associated statutory requirements upon the Chief Social Work Officer (CSWO). The post holder will provide professional support to the CSWO and deputise in their absence with regard to those Statutory Duties. The post holder will be a key member of the Social Work Governance Board as well as representing the CSWO on a number of key strategic groups that operate across the HSCP and work closely with planning and commissioning colleagues to ensure the Social Work perspective is taken account of, as directed by the Acts, and that the implications of commissioning decisions are considered in terms of their impact upon Social Work, Social Care Services, specific NHS activities as well as meeting the statutory obligations upon the Agencies concerned. This will include a particular emphasis in providing Day to Day oversight of the quality of commissioned Services regarding the Statutory obligations to continuum of Care.

The Grade of this post is Grade 4 / Level 13; the hourly rate is from £30.02 to £31.87 and the annual salary is from £54,786 to £58,186.
The successful candidate will primarily work from home with occasional travel within the South Ayrshire area. Frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.
This post is considered to be Regulated Work with protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
