Job Description
1. Conduct checks and remove any fire hazard that is found in the premises.
2. Test the fire safety systems to ensure that they are in good operating condition and oversee the maintenance of the systems.
3. Prepare and formulate a fire emergency plan for the Hotel. Organize regular fire drills in order to ensure that all staff in the Hotel are familiar with all means of escape in case of fire. Evaluate the evacuation procedures.
4. Educate employees in establishing a fire safe environment. Train employees in basic firefighting and rescue as well as ensuring that there are sufficient qualified First Aiders in the Hotel.
5. Set up a fire safety committee made up of suitable staff of various departments.
6. Prepare and formulate fire safety guidebooks for the Hotel.
7. Enforce fire safety rules as stipulated in the fire emergency plan.
8. Put up reports to the management on the fire safety of the Hotel.
9. Liaise and coordinate with the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) on all matters relating to fire safety and its requirements.
10. Ensure that the number of persons in any part of the Hotel does not exceed the authorized maximum number of persons for whom means of escape have been provided in accordance with the fire code.
11. Supervise firefighting and evacuation in the event of fire or other emergencies.
12. Always be on-call, including off-duty hours, for any emergency that may arise.
13. Train and appoint a responsible person to take over duties in his/her absence.
14. Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times.
Additional Information
The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of sales centre operations and demonstrate proficiency in handling corporate business, event management companies, professional conference organizers (PCOs), and Exhibition organizers. Preferably, the candidate should have experience in brand selling, particularly in MICE, weddings, and large conventions, enabling them to adhere to processes and drive optimal pricing strategies. We need someone who is currently working in a large MICE hotel.
