Springfield School is a generic primary Special School, providing education for children with a range of needs. The school has particular expertise in working with children who have severe learning difficulties including those with communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and complex needs, as well as those with moderate learning difficulties. The school provides education to over 65 children aged between 4 and 11.
Springfield School is part of the Manor Hall Academy Trust and forms a Federation with The Meadows School, a generic Special School.
We are looking for an inspiring and imaginative teacher who can adapt their style of teaching to ensure that learning is fun, practical, and creative. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of primary-aged children.
The Successful Candidate will Provide:
* High expectations of academic achievement
* A successful track record of motivating young people
* Well planned, sequenced, innovative, and engaging lessons
* Clear direction and support for teaching assistants
* Deliver learning activities to pupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs
* Contribute to curriculum planning, evaluation, and implementation
* Support pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, groups, and whole classes (where the assigned teacher is not present) using detailed knowledge, experience, specialist skills, and training
* Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
* Under an agreed system of supervision, plan and prepare teaching and learning objectives, adjusting activities/work plans as appropriate
* Undertake more complex marking of planned work
* Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities using a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives
* Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information, facilitating their support for their child’s attendance, access, and learning, and supporting home to school and community links
* Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required to other staff on pupils’ achievement, progress, and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence (e.g., Headteacher)
* Use ICT effectively to support learning activities
* Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures by participation in working groups and the development, preparation, and dissemination of appropriate materials
* Determine the need for, prepare, and use specialist equipment, plans, and resources to support pupils.
