The University of Sussex is seeking a Senior CRM Business Partner to provide leadership and strategic direction for the university’s recruitment CRM strategy. From tech expertise in data integration to skilled customer journey planning, you will have experience in every aspect of CRM. It’s an exciting time for the CRM team at Sussex. A new system has been identified for procurement and implementation will roll out across 2025 and 2026 – offering a unique opportunity to review and rewrite the prospective student communications journey into Sussex. We’re looking for a team player with strategic marketing and communications experience, and excellent stakeholder management skills. You will have a strong CRM background and take a customer journey focused approach to marketing and student recruitment. The Marketing Team has expertise in across a broad marketing mix – sitting in large and dynamic Communications, Engagement and Advancement Division – led by an experienced and influential Executive Director. About you You will be educated to degree level, or hold relevant equivalent work experience, and you will be a CRM master with proven experience as a senior level manager of a CRM function. You will understand all aspects of CRM and have significant applied experience of working to the very highest standards of customer service in CRM marketing and communications. You will have the strategic and technical skills to take Sussex’s email marketing activity to best-in-class level. Data is your second language, and you excel in reading and interpreting it for the purposes of strategic decision making and planning. You are confident and assured in relaying findings, recommendations, and observations to a range of stakeholders across the organisation to empower them to make effective and impactful decisions. You are also skilled in using data to dissuade, as well as persuade, and possess excellent communication and influencing skills to work collaboratively with colleagues. An excellent planner and project manager, you can effectively lead and delegate to a team, as well as deliver operationally where needed. HE experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
