We’re recruiting a Senior Trading Underwriter – Commercial.
As part of this role, you will look to deliver sales support, best advice, and quality service to Broker Partners. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team based in Belfast and work for one of Ireland’s leading insurance companies at an exciting time.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients, or attending industry events.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Handling new business submissions & renewals in line with agreed processes and risk appetite.
2. Development of key relationships through day-to-day interactions with broker partners to support business retention and new acquisition.
3. Handling technical referrals from broker partners, claims teams, and other areas of the business.
4. Support Business Development teams in relation to potential new recruiting revenue streams.
5. Maximise revenue generation through delivery of rate carry optimising sales and retention opportunities.
6. Identify new commercial insurance opportunities e.g., Pipeline, broker relationships & visits to brokers.
7. Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering a high level of customer service and adhere to the unit's agreed service standards.
8. Take personal responsibility and ownership for delivering on individual and team objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in general insurance underwriting or sales, with a strong knowledge of Commercial Products and Underwriting criteria (essential).
2. Cert CII (desirable).
3. Proven ability to deliver on challenging business targets.
4. Show a high degree of flexibility when faced with new challenges.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective relations with brokers.
6. Ability to decide the best course of action based on analysis of factual information, experience, and judgement.
7. Proven ability to prioritise workload and deliver on objectives.
