Senior Flood Risk / Infrastructure Engineer - Woking - Up to £47k
Our client, a leading independent consultancy focusing on infrastructure design, transport planning, flood risk and drainage, are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Flood Risk / Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Woking, Surrey.
As part of a small yet successful team, you will play an integral role in providing flood risk assessments, drainage, and highway infrastructure design for various development projects. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of up to £47,000 per annum.

About the Role
In this role, you will be based at our client's Woking office and will contribute to building their presence in the south of England. Your responsibilities will include providing flood risk assessments, drainage, and highway infrastructure design for new development projects. You will collaborate with project managers, ensure high-quality innovative solutions, and facilitate effective communication with clients. Your ability to learn, adapt, and provide new thinking will be integral to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production of technical reports such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports
2. Developing technical highway and drainage designs to support S104, S38, and S278 applications
3. Undertaking various technical assessments for new developments
4. Explaining technical concepts to colleagues and clients
5. Checking technical outputs, drawings, and reports produced by junior staff
6. Preparing and presenting information to internal and external groups
7. Managing projects with moderate supervision
8. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
9. Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in infrastructure engineering and construction
Key Requirements:
10. A degree in Civil Engineering or related subject
11. A minimum of 3 years' experience in UK development-related infrastructure engineering
12. Knowledge of relevant design standards, planning policy, and local road standards
13. Experience in preparing highways and drainage design, particularly S38, S278, and S104 processes
14. Experience in writing flood risk assessments and/or drainage strategy reports
15. Knowledge of drainage design principles and software such as Microdrainage and/or Causeway flow
16. Excellent communication and written skills
17. Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to further professional development
18. Competent in using Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software
19. A full UK driving license
