JOB TITLE: EVENTS DIRECTOR DIRECT REPORT: MANAGING DIRECTOR LOCATION: Remote (South of England) SALARY: UP to £50,000 OTE HOURS: 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK / MON-FRI MASHIE Golf is looking for an Events Director to oversee & deliver our annual Member, Pairs & Bespoke golf days. This role will be varied, with key responsibilities including but not limited to event management, client liaison, P&L management, event scheduling, attendee correspondence, sponsorship, event software management (Golf Genius) and member engagement. The successful applicant will be able to work proactively and keep on top of things, in a dynamic & fast paced environment. You will be self-motivated, professional with a can-do attitude. You have an ability to build strong relationships, communicate at all levels and be able to work calmly under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You are passionate about golf and driven to pursuing or continuing a meaningful career within the golf industry. This role will require travel mainly around the South of England but also throughout the UK and overseas. It is essential you can drive and have your own transport. ABOUT MASHIE We are a rapidly growing virtual members club in the UK. We run an extensive events schedule that caters for our growing membership of over 11,000 Members. We have established strong relationships with a large number of golf clubs, golf and lifestyle brands and corporate clients & members. We are a small team who are all passionate about golf and who share responsibilities where necessary to ensure the continued growth and success of the business. EVENT MANAGEMENT Reporting into the Managing Director, you will: Be responsible for the forward scheduling of Mashie Events Be responsible for the forward scheduling of Mashie International Trips Correspond with the relevant golf clubs to secure dates and negotiate prices/terms Manage events on the Mashie App and Mashie Website keeping them up to date Keep and maintain a profit and loss sheet for each event category Work with relevant suppliers and venues to ensure the best pricing Working with the golf clubs - Create and manage event itinerary’s including F&B Create and Schedule all the correspondence around events and trips Work with the rest of the team to plan staff attendance for events Manage the creation of tee sheets and pairings using golf genius when required Along with the team - develop better and more effective ways of administration Attend Mashie events and trips where necessary Organise prize giving’s, presentations, event hosts and experiences EVENTS SALES Reporting into the Managing Director, you will: Be responsible for ensuring and driving attendance to all events through various channels Develop and convert leads for Mashie Private Events Working with the Marketing Team develop marketing strategies to find new business and grow event attendance Ensure event sponsorship at events if and where possible Work with brand partners and sponsors to provide event and series prizes Develop new ideas to keep our event schedule engaging Develop relationships with attendees to encourage engagement on all levels Manage and build relationships with hosts – arrange Q&A’s etc… Play golf with key stakeholders where necessary Build beneficial relationships with golf clubs & travel agents to ensure preferable rates and terms Build relationships with key sponsors and partner brands Generate leads and convert new sponsors and partner brands Work closely with Mashie Membership Manager to maximise opportunities Report monthly on attendance and financials around Member events Continually strive to improve the Mashie Member Event offering WHAT YOU'VE GOT Commercial acumen and a passion for golf and working in the industry Proficient user of Microsoft packages (Excel/Outlook/Word) Experience with Golf Genius software preferential but not essential Events & or Travel experience, preferably golf related You like taking responsibility and can work to timelines Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with members, key stake holders, golf clubs and other employees Experience in managing a P&L is beneficial Good attention to detail High load capacity, outstanding commitment, and organisation Enthusiasm & self-motivation Communication, Presentation and Time management skills Confident in written and telephone communications Have a full, clean driving licence and own transport Ability to be analytical, with a desire to improve both personal and business processes
