Job summary The Nursing Receptionist/Administrator role is to work as a member of thenursing administration team with a focus on inpatient and day care services.The post holder will carry out reception, clerical and any relevant nonclinical duties which assist the nursing, medical staff and patients.The post holder will need to be extremely flexible as the role will involvecovering different ward reception areas along with chemotherapyadministration duties as and when required.The post will also involve coordinating emergency bed management andcarrying out administration duties.By the nature of the duties, the post holder will be required to maintain strictconfidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers andrelatives with courtesy and discretion at all times. Main duties of the job To act as first point of contact for patients and relatives entering the ward. To provide reception and clerical support. To comply with all aspects of confidentiality including the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act. To accurately input data on the Trust computer system for which full training will be given. Locate and retrieve case-notes on patients pending admission, ensuring that they are correctly tracked to the ward.
