Description The current demand for growth in the UK Electricity Transmission and Distribution Sector is unprecedented since the last development of the super grid through the 1950’s and 60’s. However, there are teams in all parts of the UK designing, building and operating these critical assets. In support of this, Wood Transmission & Distribution are looking for a “Quality Lead” to join our team on the west-coast of Scotland, providing an exciting long-term career opportunity supporting the transition to a net zero future through the world-class development and construction of electricity transmission and distribution assets. This is a hybrid role which includes the ability to work from home, albeit regular travel to business’ facilities and worksites within their remit is required to provide the necessary support. Responsibilities Managing all aspects of Quality on the project(s) assigned including harmonization and adherence to client Quality requirements • Identification and regular engagement with key stakeholders to promote Quality management and gathering feedback on performance. • Support the effective planning, development, and delivery of project(s) Quality deliverables, ensuring effective implementation, maintenance and management of change. • Implementing the Wood Business Management System (BMS) on their assigned project(s) ensuring that its application is effective and that compliance with the system is routinely monitored, assessed and improved as necessary. • Ensuring consistent and effective implementation of Quality supporting systems (e.g., non-conformities, lessons learned, and digital record control via iAuditor). • Supporting tender and proposal activities for opportunities within their remit, including risk identification and mitigation, sharing of prior lessons learned, and resource allocation. • Planning and execution of risk-based assurance plans including the escalation of significant findings to senior leaders. • Leading non-conformity investigations using Taproot/Topset why-mapping methodologies, presenting solutions to senior leaders. • Work alongside our supply chain to capture Quality surveillance and client requirements, with occasional trips to our vendors internationally undertaking inspection and audit. • Participate in Quality improvement initiatives and taking the lead with assigned goal-directed plans. • Monitoring and analysis of delivery performance data, regularly reporting themes and trends to our clients and senior leaders, and undertaking intervention as required. • Gathering and acting upon customer feedback ensuring action is taken to maintain and improve customer satisfaction. Qualifications Qualifications: • Degree/diploma or local equivalent in Quality management, project management or related discipline (essential) • Lead Auditor qualification by recognized industry body (essential) • Membership of CQI organization or equivalent (desirable) • Formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques (essential) • Right to work in the UK (essential) • Full UK driving license (essential) Knowledge, skills and experience: • Relevant industry experience • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards • Proficient in the analysis of processes and data • Proficient in Microsoft Office • High Level of communication skills in both written and spoked format • Proficient in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques Personal attributes: • Leads by example. • Excellent planner and organizer • Analytical, problem solver and systematic thinker • Excellent inter-personal skills and team player • Empowers others to make decisions within established parameters.
