Job Title: Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home
Salary: £30,000 - £31,200 plus sleep in allowance
Location: Kettering
Job Description: Our client seeks an experienced and visionary Deputy Manager to assist in the running of their children's residential home. This pivotal role involves supporting the Home Manager in all aspects of management, ensuring the highest standards of care, and fostering a nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Manager in the overall management and operation of the residential home.
* Lead, supervise, and develop a team of care workers, ensuring they deliver outstanding care.
* Oversee the implementation of care plans, ensuring they meet the individual needs of each child.
* Participate in the recruitment, training, and appraisal of staff.
* Manage budgets, resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Handle complex case management, including risk assessments and crisis intervention.
* Act as the main point of contact in the absence of the Home Manager.
* Engage actively with children, promoting their wellbeing, education, and social integration.
* Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety protocols are adhered to.
* Drive children to various appointments, activities, or family visits when needed.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience within childcare services, with a proven track record in a managerial or supervisory role.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare or Children & Young People's Workforce.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent knowledge of child welfare legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
* Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
