Fleet Manager Position Title: Fleet Manager Reports To: Group People Manager Location: Chorley Head Office Employment Type: 20 hours per week Job Summary: The Fleet Manager is responsible for the efficient management and coordination of a company’s vehicle fleet. This includes vehicle maintenance, driver management, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Fleet Manager will work to ensure the fleet operates efficiently and cost-effectively, while meeting safety standards and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Operations Management: Manage the acquisition, operation, and disposal of fleet vehicles. Maintenance and Repairs: Schedule regular maintenance and inspections to ensure fleet vehicles are in good working condition. Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance when necessary. Maintain detailed records of vehicle service, repairs, and maintenance schedules. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local, including vehicle licensing, insurance, MOT & Servicing Monitor driver behaviour and performance, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations. Budget and Cost Management: Prepare and manage the fleet management budget, including maintenance & repairs Analyse fleet costs and identify opportunities for savings (e.g., fuel efficiency, vehicle leasing, etc.). Negotiate contracts with service providers and suppliers for cost-effective fleet services. Fleet Optimisation: Use fleet management software to track vehicle locations, fuel usage, and performance data in real-time. Monitor trends and propose vehicle replacements or upgrades to improve fleet performance.
