Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual, keen to develop new skills and looking for a new challenge? Then we would like to hear from you! We are recruiting for two Band 4 Assistant Practitioners to join our exciting and diverse nursing team within HMP Grampian.
HMP Grampian is a high-security prison for adult males and females. HMP Grampian is the only such facility in the northeast of the country. The establishment has five residential housing blocks. Ellon Hall houses male offenders; Banff Hall houses female offenders. Aberlour unit houses prisoners who have community access. Finally, Dyce Hall is the Separation & Re-Integration Unit.
HMP Grampian can offer an exciting career development opportunity in the challenging environment of NHS prison health care. We are in the midst of building a robust Prison Nursing Team where there will be opportunities to develop skills in primary care, substance use, mental health, and pharmacy care within the ever-changing prison environment.
This role will entail supporting clinical staff to deliver routine clinics/care within the Health Centre and at times in the Residential Prison Halls, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service.
You will need to have experience of working within a caring environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills and an interest in developing health and care knowledge in relation to prison nursing are essential. The prison environment is extremely busy and both emotionally and physically demanding; this post requires someone who is able to cope with these demands.
The post is shift-based working 12-hour shifts from 0600-1830 Monday to Sunday. There is no night shift.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
