Description ABOUT THE ROLE The Fitness Instructor is responsible for the daily operation of Sport Central's gym by providing a welcoming and safe experience for our customers by delivering fitness appointments including gym inductions and health assessments as well as leading high-quality fitness classes to our members. The Fitness Instructor is a customer facing role and will be required to undertake direct customer facing services and operational roles as and when required. The Fitness Instructor will have good knowledge of all Northumbria Sport products and services. Further information is available in the job description. ABOUT THE TEAM Reporting directly to the Duty Manager, the role will join Northumbria Sport, a core department within Campus Services. Northumbria Sport is responsible for delivering an excellent student experience through our range of sport, fitness and wellbeing programmes. The role will be based at Sport Central at Northumbria University's City Campus and will be contracted to 14.8 hours per week. ABOUT YOU To be successful in the role you will have: Excellent verbal communication skills Experience of delivering customer service excellence in a busy gym environment Qualified to instruct at least 3 different Group Exercise Classes Knowledge of how to set, monitor and evaluate Health & Fitness goals A good understanding of how to behave appropriately with members and colleagues Further information is available in the person specification.
