Job Title: Personal Assistant (Social Support) for a Young Man with Epilepsy

About the Role:
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Personal Assistant to support a young man of 29, who previously worked but due to epilepsy needs someone with him when going out into the community. The post is to provide company, safeguarding, and prevent social isolation by increasing his social networks. While he is very independent and capable, he would benefit from some support in getting out into the community, engaging in activities, and expanding his social circle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide companionship and encouragement to engage in social and recreational activities.
2. Support the individual in exploring and developing new interests.
3. Assist with planning and attending community outings, social events, or group activities.
4. Offer reassurance and awareness of epilepsy, ensuring safety while promoting independence.
5. Help identify and connect with social groups or activities that match his interests.
6. Provide light support in travel planning and navigation if needed.
7. Communicate effectively, offering encouragement while respecting personal choices and independence.
Essential Requirements:
1. Friendly, patient, and understanding approach.
2. Awareness of epilepsy (training will be provided).
3. Experience in social care, support work, or a similar role (preferred but not essential).
4. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexibly.
5. Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
6. Ability to promote independence while offering reassurance when needed.
7. A driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable but not required).
