An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Finance team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for an experienced Senior Management Accountant. The post holder will be part of a team providing financial management advice and support for the Trust. This post will have responsibility for the provision of financial advice to managers within the Clinical Directorates.
The post holder will adopt a modern, proactive and dynamic approach to ensure the efficient and effective use of financial resources. The post holder will provide appropriate financial performance management and business planning information relating to their activities and budgets that are integral to the achievement of the objectives and targets set by the Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Take the lead in the preparation and presentation of budgets for a range of areas across the Planned & Surgical Care Directorate.
2. Calculation of budgets as part of the annual budget setting process and the production of the opening budgets.
3. Production of timely and accurate monthly budget reports.
4. Investigation and identification of the causes of budget variances.
5. Producing forecast information.
6. Proactive engagement with budget holders and other Trust colleagues.
7. Provide advice and support for the development of business cases.

The post holder will ensure that financial information is processed in accordance to specific deadlines and complies with internal procedures and accounting principles. The holder will work closely with budget holders to investigate complex enquiries and will advise on financial issues.
