Interim Team Leader - Property, Commercial & Development
Location: Bradford
Key Requirements:
1. Solicitor entitled to practice in England and holding a current practising certificate or a barrister.
2. Relevant experience in preparation of local plans including submission and examination, including preparing complex reports and documents.
3. Significant post qualification experience of legal practice (including personal responsibility for delivering complex projects/matters) is required in the following areas of law: property and/or planning and highways.
4. Experience of developing housing and employment needs, allocation and policies to ensure a sound local plan.
The role is to take the lead on key strategic elements of the local plan to finalise the Regulation 19 content and supporting evidence including bridging documents and alignment with a range of appraisals and linked technical work. The role will particularly lead on the housing and employment strands of work with an overview of the policies and the approach to scale and distribution as well as site allocations and appraisals. In collaboration with the team leader, the role will provide technical and expert advice to team members on content and supporting documents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with clients to match the resources of the Legal Service to the legal work required to be done and to manage any change.
2. Be responsible for delivering any change within the team required.
3. Be responsible for monitoring workloads in the team and to liaise with clients to identify priorities.
4. Oversee the legal work within the team.
5. Be the advisor in the most complex and/or sensitive cases.
6. Oversee the allocation of work within the team.
