As Production Manager you will be joining a leading engineering company in County Down renowned for their expertise in both design and fabrication of architectural metalwork and pipe welding. Reporting into the Operations Manager you will be responsible for Control of all personnel within the Production department inclusive of quality inspector and shop floor personnel. Our Client is renowned for their expertise in both Building and Civil Engineering. They have secured a creditable reputation with repeat contracts from a vast array of UK Tier 1 Contractors on projects such as London Cross Rail, Water/Wastewater Treatment Projects, Marine, Education, Residential and Healthcare. As Production Manager your role will include but not be limited to the following: Control of all personnel within the Production department inclusive of quality inspector and shop floor personnel Control of transport operations incoming and outgoing. Control of forward loading workshop in conjunction with the Operations Manager Control of purchasing of the steel requirements of production which will include nesting to ensure full benefits of steel ordered. Ensure the loading out of specific loads is done in conjunction with the specific load lists. Plan timely deliveries to painters, galvanisers and company sites as required and on time to meet the operational requirements. Liaise with the Design Manager to ensure the smooth transition of workshop requirements from design into production. Work closely with the Contracts manager and report daily on any program-related issues. Maintain specific project files pertaining to each individual contract containing all purchasing, programs and correspondence Development of training and support programs for workshop personnel and the ongoing development of the workshop team. Report all accidents/near misses to the Safety Manager and ensure that workshop personnel follow the company health and safety policy at all times. Work closely with the staff under your control and attend daily briefings to be held first thing every morning with team leaders and quality inspectors. Continually look to improve procedures and discuss openly with the team ways to improve the production department.In order to be considered for the role you will have: Experience working within the steel fabrication sector. Proven Man Management / Supervisory experience, alongside a track record of improving processes across fabrication. Health & Safety / Quality driven to ensure products are manufactured to a high standard. Organised and a natural problem solver.
