An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to join our friendly nursing team within Intensive Care. We have spacious, well-equipped units with dedicated teams of Intensivists, experienced critical care nurses, and proactive AHPs.
The unit is lively, energetic, and forward-thinking; embracing new initiatives, change, and the development of services.
You will receive orientation to the unit and will be comprehensively supported with a full induction programme and ongoing development in the care of the critically ill patient.
You MUST have a minimum of demonstrable post-registration experience; within a current acute setting experience being essential. Previous critical care experience is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work internal rotation from day to night duty is essential.
Main duties of the job
You would be caring for critically ill patients requiring multi-organ support; responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering a high standard of individualised nursing care.
Caring for X1 level 3 or X2 level 2 patients requiring ICU or HDU care.
Liaising with the MDT and senior nurses on the ICU, and also collaborating with admission and discharge areas to provide excellent nursing care and contribute to a positive patient journey and experience.
When called upon to provide support to other areas in the Trust when activity is less on the unit and greater need elsewhere is an expectation.
