We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to join the Work after First Hearing team as a Family Court Adviser within CAFCASS based in Liverpool.
This position is an unusual opportunity for you to work with vulnerable children and families to advise the family courts on the best course of action for the child or young person.
You will use your experience as a qualified social worker in order to provide thorough case analysis and recommendations for the court, including preparing, writing, and presenting reports.
Being part of the Work after First Hearing team, you will be responsible for completing any actions to be taken with the children/family that has been decided at the first hearing. This could include parenting plans, section 7 reports, and any safeguarding steps that are necessary.
You will use your social work skills and experience to understand what the child needs, wants, and feels. You'll then advise the Family Courts on the best course of action for the child by providing confident, powerful, and succinct written case analysis and make recommendations to the court. You'll also attend court and be an advocate for the child, ensuring their voice is not lost.
You will have the opportunity of flexible working with this role, including working from home for the most part.
Essential Requirements:
1. Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
2. At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
3. Social Work England Registration
4. Driving license and access to own vehicle
