The role
The Operative Ranger is the frontline face of our open spaces and is critical to ensuring a safe, welcoming customer experience for all users while maintaining the high standards required for the Green Flag Award and other nationally recognized standards. The Operative Ranger will support existing teams to keep the parks clean and safe, engage with visitors and community groups, maintain sports pitches and facilities, and assist with events and entertainment across the department.
The ideal Candidate
You will have a full clean driving licence, a good understanding of Health & Safety within a work environment, and the relevant certification to operate machinery and tools. You will have demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced open spaces environment, good communication skills, and the ability to follow company policies and procedures. You should provide accurate updates to your line manager, both written and verbal. You will show initiative, work well in a team, be flexible, calm under pressure, and have a can-do approach to working outdoors.
