R&D Manager - West Yorkshire, UK Up to £50,000 benefits I have a unique opportunity for an R&D Manager to play a key part in the development and management of a forward-thinking Research & Development (R&D) department. The successful candidate will support the department's growth, oversee multiple projects, and contribute to strategic innovation within the business. What are the key responsibilities? Oversee multiple projects at once, with the goal of taking a lead role with a key retailer client. Assist in the development and enhancement of the Group R&D department. Manage and refine the R&D tracker, collaborating with IT to log all projects and prepare R&D Tax Credit submissions. Promote the department’s profile across the organisation through project-led initiatives and training sessions. Co-manage group meetings and departmental updates involving Technical, Engineering, NPD & Marketing, ESG, Packaging, and Purchasing. Organise monthly departmental reviews and updates. Work with university and supplier partners to manage and execute strategic R&D projects. Key Skills? Proven track record managing multiple projects, showcasing strong organisational and management abilities. A self-motivated individual who can work independently. Recent experience working with leading UK retailers (Tesco, JS, M&S, Morrisons, Waitrose etc) Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of stakeholders Confidence in presenting to diverse audiences. Ambitious, resilient, and proactive in approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. What are they looking for? Experience in the Food industry at middle to senior management level in an NPD/R&D role. Proven ability to lead and implement strategic initiatives/projects. A degree-level qualification, ideally in Food Science. Level 4 Health & Safety awareness. Solid knowledge of legal legislation and guidelines related to the Food industry.
