The Children’s Rapid Response Service has an exciting opportunity as it continues to expand the team. The Children’s Rapid Response Service works collaboratively with the Community Children’s Nursing & Palliative Care Team. It is the team’s primary aim to prevent and reduce hospital attendances, admissions, and length of stay for children already known to the Community Children’s Nursing & Palliative Team.
The emphasis of this service is to improve the quality of life for children and families with complex healthcare needs, offering them greater choice around their chosen place of care.
Are you an enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible, and motivated experienced Nurse or Nurse Practitioner, with a strong knowledge of Children’s Nursing? Clinical expertise and good communication skills are required, as well as excellent time management and prioritization skills which are essential for this role. The service is open from 07:30 – 22:00 across 7 days, and there is flexibility to work short shifts or long days.
We are looking for experienced children’s nurses that have extensive experience in assessment with children with complex healthcare needs. You must have the ability to prioritize your workload using advanced assessment skills with the ability to provide a symptom management plan of care to children/young people during times of acute deterioration or illness.
The role requires undertaking clinical assessments of a sick child or young person and emergency enteral feeding management to prevent hospital admissions.
