Axcis Education is proud to partner with a leading alternative provision in Bristol specialising in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 4 pupils facing significant SEMH challenges and behavioural difficulties.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this alternative provision, your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing tailored support to students through one-to-one sessions and small group interventions.
2. Working closely with teachers and support staff to implement individualised learning plans.
3. Using de-escalation strategies to effectively manage challenging behaviour.
4. Building strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or managing challenging behaviour.
2. Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
3. Excels at building relationships with students and colleagues.
4. Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Team Teach, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning); however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
