Business Administrator Apprentice Level 3
The Mount View Practice in Fleetwood is looking for an energetic, dedicated, caring, and patient-focused individual with a can-do attitude, who has the desire to make a difference to the lives of the patients in our community.
Responsibilities are administrative in nature with non-clinical contact with patients and visitors.
Applicants must be able to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 0800 & 1830. Full-time hours over 5 days can be discussed at interview.
STANDARD & LEVEL
The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Business Administration Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Off-the-job training
Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training; 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be off-the-job. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will complete general administration tasks including Docman, answering the phone, completing spreadsheets, filing, photocopying, and scanning.
Excellent communication skills are required, both verbal and written, to converse with patients, relatives, and other staff members in a professional manner via phone and email, taking and recording messages and acting on any requests in a timely manner.
The ability to work independently with a flexible approach to work is also essential for the role as administration tasks may also be allocated from the Management Team.

The Mount View Practice is a patient-focused, friendly team, looking after approximately 12,000 patients in Fleetwood.
We consist of 5 GP Partners and a Salaried GP, a Practice Paramedic, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and a dedicated team of administrative professionals.
We are part of Fleetwood Primary Care Network and supported by a fantastic team of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribers, and a Mental Health Team.

Job responsibilities
1. Provide Administrative support to enable the Practice to be run in an efficient and professional manner.
2. Responsibilities are administrative in nature.
3. Non-clinical contact with patients and visitors.
4. Need to be flexible at times of increased demand to the Practice.
5. Type documents as required.
6. Use computer systems to book/reschedule/cancel appointments.
7. Co-ordinate filing of correspondence through the Docman system.
8. Maintain patient access to records.
9. Support the department's administrative functions.
10. Be able to work under pressure and with disruptions.
11. Exercise appropriate judgement when dealing with enquiries from patients, relatives, medical staff, and the public, and analyze and deal with the problem as appropriate.
12. Make outgoing calls as required.
13. Answer telephone and relay messages to appropriate staff.
14. Support with Practice statistical collation and analysis.
15. Demonstrate good time management, ensuring that anticipated difficulties in meeting deadlines are promptly reported.
16. Actively involved in peer group meetings, identify training needs, and develop.
17. Take responsibility for the update of own mandatory training.

Qualifications
* A minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.

£6.40 an hour, £7.55 from 1st April. £10 after successful 3-month appraisal.
