Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Creative Artworker to join our small team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Product Manager to transform their ideas into viable artwork for print and production. Working primarily from initial sketches and illustrations, you should have the vision and knowledge of how to transpose these ideas into physical products. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing packaging for the products, setting content and creating dielines that can be managed within our suppliers’ production processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the consistency and accuracy of artwork, adhering to our brand identity and ethos, and preparing files for production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Display knowledge on the optimal ways to transpose sketches and illustrations into polished, print-ready artwork suitable for both spot colour screen printing and digital printing.
2. Offer insight into how rough concepts may be developed into viable new products.
3. Following the brand identity and packaging formats already developed, create primary packaging for products. Includes development of accurate dielines and accurate application of copy, codes and other mandatory information.
4. Produce physical and visual mockups when required.
5. Prepare final artwork for production, ensuring that files are correctly formatted, and aligned with specifications.
6. Use your knowledge of CMYK, Pantone, and other colour systems to ensure colour accuracy and consistency across print materials and digital assets.
7. Prepare files for print, ensuring proper use of colour profiles and breakdowns, bleed, trim, and resolution.
8. Proof artwork to ensure all files are correct before sending them to print and review print proofs prior to production as required.
9. Maintain an organised file structure for artwork and project assets to ensure easy access and version control.
10. Meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools.
2. Knowledge of typography, layout principles, and branding consistency.
3. Solid understanding of CMYK, Pantone, and RGB colour systems with the ability to convert between different formats for both print and digital projects.
4. Experience in creating dielines for packaging and understanding of print production processes including file preparation, resolution, bleed, and colour profiles.
5. Experience with product packaging design, including layout, typography, and imagery selection.
6. Excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritise between multiple tasks, strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate.
7. Ability to handle constructive feedback and make adjustments to designs as needed.

Employment Type: Part-Time 15hrs per week
Salary: £28,000 Pro Rata
