Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical
1. To perform a full range of treatment room duties, running specific clinic sessions.
2. Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology screening, NHS health checks, etc.
3. Provide child immunisations, running specific clinic sessions.
4. Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
5. Treat patients with minor injuries or in emergency situations within the surgery.
6. Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services.
7. Act as chaperone when required.
8. Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
9. Select, carry out, and interpret results of specific tests.
Administration
1. Maintain accurate patient records and enter them onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
2. Collect data and participate in regular Practice audit and research projects.
3. Contribute to the preparation of any Practice development plans.
General
1. Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
2. Work collaboratively to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all staff, patients, carers, and co-workers from other agencies. Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g., Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to.
3. Promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the Practice.
4. Maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP is kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the Practice.
5. Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.
6. Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
