Location: Scotland – office based in Edinburgh with some flexible home working available on application
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Salary: £60,000 per year

Play Scotland is the lead organisation for children’s play in Scotland and works to make every child’s right to play a reality. The purpose of this role is to lead the strategic development of the organisation, in consultation with the board of directors and senior staff members and to oversee all operations and activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with the short-term and long-term objectives of Play Scotland.
2. Maintain a deep knowledge of the children’s and play sector and lead on innovation within the organisation.
3. Develop new income streams to guide the organisation towards longer-term financial autonomy and sustainability.
4. Act as an effective communicator, engaging with stakeholders and representing policy at a national level.
5. Promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a strategic manager in the third sector.
2. Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills.
3. Understanding of the challenges faced by charities within the social impact sector.
