Are you passionate about ensuring children's voices are heard and respected in decisions about their future? If so, we're seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to play a vital role in our mission to champion the rights and welfare of Children Looked After (CLA).
Key Responsibilities:
Advocate for the needs and wishes of Children Looked After (CLA), ensuring care plans prioritize early permanence planning.
Skilfully engage and support children's participation in the review and planning process, empowering them to actively contribute to decisions about their lives.
Serve as a crucial link between CLA and other agencies, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making processes.
Utilize extensive post-qualifying experience and in-depth knowledge of the legal framework (Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, IRO Handbook) to guide decision-making.
Effectively challenge existing practices to ensure the best possible outcomes for children, including utilizing effective escalation procedures.
Contribute expertise to training forums and departmental meetings, acting as a key resource within the wider team.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
