The Role:
As a Senior Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the day-to-day experience for the children in your care. You’ll lead and inspire a team, ensuring they deliver high-quality, fun, and educational activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Responsibilities include structuring daily activities, implementing developmentally appropriate learning opportunities, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Working closely with families, you’ll contribute to the growth and development of children up to age 5, fostering their independence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and Lead: Develop and implement a varied curriculum for children, focusing on their social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
* Team Leadership: Manage and motivate nursery practitioners, from trainees to qualified staff, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
* Observe and Document: Track children’s progress, meet EYFS goals, and maintain records for each child’s individual development.
* Parent Engagement: Actively involve parents in their children’s learning through regular communication, progress updates, and meetings.
* Inclusive Approach: Support diversity by creating an inclusive environment for children from all backgrounds, including those with special needs and those learning English as an additional language.
* Health and Safety: Ensure that all facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming for children and their families.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
* Experience: Proven background in early years education and childcare, ideally in a leadership role.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding practices, and Ofsted requirements.
* Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
