Commercial Paralegal My client, a leading research centre, are seeking a Commercial Paralegal to join their successful In-House team. This is a 12-month fixed term contract role, offering hybrid working (2 days remote working). You will work closely with the Head of Legal and Senior Counsel. Day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of cross-border commercial and research contracts with minimal to no direction, while consulting with the Legal Department where appropriate Agreements include various matters across a variety of legal disciplines, specific examples include Material Transfer Agreements, Non-disclosure Agreements, contract amendments, collaboration/consortia/co-operation contracts Review redlines, formulate legal responses and lead negotiations with counterparties within a tight timeframe Communicate advice clearly on a variety of contract and other legal issues Provide support and assistance within the Legal Department for all matters Support senior members of the Legal Department on all matters where needed Assist with management and development of clause language and templates Educate stakeholders on sound legal practices and new developments impacting the business Assist/Participate in special projects furthering development and embedding of best practices or expanded legal knowledge Contribute to the development of innovative working systems and processes to ensure efficiency and best practice in the interactions between the Legal Department and its key stakeholders You must have previous commercial law experience; however, research/science experience would be beneficial. A law degree and LPC is desirable. Proven success in working to tight deadlines, attention to detail, effective time-management and dealing with a large volume of matters will be key to succeeding in this role.
