Hiring Manager: Senior Manager Development
Location Address: Hybrid - Scarborough – 1/month in Scarborough and 1/month at Downtown Toronto – typically Thursdays, biweekly – need candidates in GTA
Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 31.2024 – approx. 5 months

Typical Day in Role:
The Sr. iWay ETL Engineer is responsible for design and development of ETL solutions for complex business and technology initiatives. Along with providing thought leadership, they will help navigate production issues and investigations, and be a key advocate of efficiency and continual improvement as we work to modernize.
1. Analyze and estimate effort for new scope and requirements.
2. Design and develop ETL solutions on multiple complex initiatives.
3. Stay abreast of modern technologies and best practices, and recommend the introduction of new technology and processes.
4. Act as the Subject Matter Expert and manage admin functions for ETL and iWay.
5. Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes; utilize internal defect tracking tool to create detailed, high-quality error reports.
6. Work with product owners and test engineers to support QA processes, review test plans, test coverage, and help improve test automation.
7. Tech Stack: iWay iSM and Data Migrator – back-end.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 10 years’ experience as a developer.
2. 3+ years’ hands-on iWay iSM (iWay Service Manager) and DM (Data Migrator) development experience.
3. 3+ years’ SQL/plSQL and database programming (Preferably DB2).
4. 5+ years’ experience with deployment processes and release pipelines (Eg: Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git, Unix/AIX script experience).
5. 5+ years’ experience with data modeling and mapping.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1. Experience in agile methodologies like SCRUM/Kanban.
2. Developer experience from FI/banking.
3. Experience with SaaS/cloud solution integration with ETL.
4. Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
Soft Skills Required:
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Education:
Bachelors in technical field e.g., computer science, engineering.
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Ideal candidate needs to be ok with flexible hours; is a strong team player; resourceful; requires minimal hand-holding as this is a senior role; strong with the technical capabilities outlined in must-haves.
Candidate Review & Selection:
1. 1 round – MS Teams Video Interviews.
2. 45 minutes – technical panel interview with HM and other team members – no live coding but technical questions on skillset.
