An Electronics Design Engineer is sought to join the R&D team of an international business which leads globally in the design and manufacture of machines for the health care and life science sectors. The company employs 5000 people worldwide and the specific R&D programme you will be working on is a well funded 7 million Euro project.
Yours is a key role in understanding and analysing customer needs to determine the costs, capacity and technical requirements for creating electronic systems using agile project methodology for our client’s products.
The Electronics Design Engineer will design, release and maintain electronic systems, firmware and components and ensure designs meet with customer expectations, applicable regulations and safety standards, making fact based decisions on the suitability of electronic engineering design solutions.
Creating robust testing procedures and maintenance regime for electronic equipment and components you will write consistent electronic product specifications, instructions for use and technical reports.
Other key duties of the Electronics Design Engineer include:
- Thoroughly investigating and precisely determining failure mode on electronic systems. Drive changes on design, testing, manufacturing and service instructions when required. Implement and monitor changes focusing on continuous improvement of engineering quality, efficiency and cost.
- Supporting operations on electronics manufacturing improvement by monitoring and evaluating current processes, punctually identifying opportunities for improvement, always oriented by cost and production volume increase.
You should be Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and have substantial experience in electronics product development. You should have experience across PCB, Power Control Systems, Microprocessor design, testing/troubleshooting and be familiar with electrical/electronics compliance and safety requirements testing/analysis (UL and EMC).
Experience of working in formalized phase-gate product development processes is expected using design tools such as DFM, FMEA and ISO9001 design controls.
