Main duties of the job
Working closely with our pharmacy senior leadership team, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the department. Your specialist knowledge will be invaluable in providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and contributing to our medicines governance program and formulary process.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the Chief Pharmacist in strategic development and medicines optimization initiatives across the organization. As the lead specialist in pharmacy support services, you will be accountable for your professional actions, guided by national protocols, legislation, and clinical experience.
The successful candidate will lead our Trust medicines value program, ensuring efficient procurement and distribution services that meet upper quartile benchmarks. Staying up-to-date with advancements in pharmacy automation is essential, as you will be responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions within our dispensing, distribution, and procurement services.

Essential criteria
* Current professional registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Postgraduate Pharmacy Qualification (MSc or PGDip) or demonstrable equivalent vocational experience
* Management and/or leadership qualification or demonstrable equivalent vocational experience
Desirable criteria
* Independent prescribing qualification
* To have completed the 'pharmaceutical medical gas testing' course from Leeds University, or similar
Experience
Essential criteria
* Management of a pharmacy team at a senior level including experience of service delivery, finance and HR functions
* Experience of project management including experience of developing and implementing service change
Desirable criteria
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working to deliver a range of pan Trust developments
