The Workshop Foreman/Chargehand is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop. Overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00-22:00, with a 30-minute paid break per shift
Essential duties and responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to assist and then after an allotted training period perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Manage all staff, including monitoring of timekeeping and productivity, authorising overtime, and identifying training needs
Ensure a high quality of customer service is always delivered
Establish a close working relationship with all departments
Deal with queries in an effective manner ensuring all actions are met
Assist in training and development programs for all department staff
Maximise the profitability of both parts and service departments, including continual improvements in utilisation of staff and efficiency of organisation
The ability to lead a large and diverse team
Access, produce and follow up all quotations for all types of equipment
Control and maintain departmental parts stock levels
Contribute to the development of all operating and administrative systems to ensure that quality, efficient and timely work is carried out
Remain up to date with all relevant legal requirements
Achieve and strive to exceed customer service level expectations and agreements
Ensure premises and company vehicles are maintained to a high standard
Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager

Education and/or Experience
Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
Current driving licence
Autoline 8.35 use
Supervisory or management experience
LGV/HGV licence
