If you’re familiar with our games, you’ll know that they’re not just games. They are immersive long-term gaming experiences that you keep coming back to again and again. Of course, games like this require a lot of content, and we’re looking for someone to help create that content and expand our Maladum and Core Space universes (and maybe others in the future!).
You’ll be working with our designers to support our games with expansions, scenarios, campaigns, and other ongoing content, as well as managing our playtesting and feedback to ensure our games are the best they possibly can be.
This is a creative role for someone with a knack for tabletop gaming mechanics, and offers a lot of potential for growth in an exciting industry. We’re looking for someone to come on that journey with us.
Responsibilities
* Build upon our existing core mechanics to create expansion content for our games, including scenarios, character statistics, abilities, events and other variables, to be published in our finished products
* Create ongoing supporting content for our games to be published online or as part of collaborations with partners, including scenarios and reference aids
* Work alongside our designers to offer ideas and feedback for new games
* Manage internal and external playtesting for games in development, collating and implementing feedback into the working documents
* Oversee community feedback on our published games and maintain FAQ documents
* Keep a detailed log of progress and changes during development
* Collaborate with the marketing team to write gameplay-related articles for the Battle Systems website
* Edit and proofread all gameplay content before production to ensure quality, consistency and succinctness
About You
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have a deep understanding of tabletop gaming mechanics and principles across all sub-categories from simple board/card games through to miniature wargames
* Have experience of creating gameplay content, either in a professional context in a similar role, or as an active member of a gaming community creating fan-made content. Note that specific experience of Core Space and Maladum is not necessary
* Have wide-ranging, up-to-date knowledge of the tabletop games market (experience as a consumer is sufficient)
* Have an analytical mind and an exceptional eye for detail
* Be highly-organised, with a methodical and structured approach to work
* Work under their own initiative and with a proactive attitude
* Have a very high standard of written English
* Be eager to work in a growing business and influence our future prospects
* Be proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software. Experience with Adobe Suite (InDesign in particular) would be beneficial but is not necessary.
