In partnership with National Highways, Skanska is delivering the A47 road improvement project aimed at alleviating congestion and enhancing safety. We are seeking a passionate Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our infrastructure team based at our Thickthorn Junction office in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity to influence, develop and drive environmental excellence across this major road project.
What you’ll do:
1. Support operational teams, subcontractors and clients in identifying and implementing environmental opportunities and solutions.
2. Provide guidance, advice and steer on environmental policy and legislation, environmental and carbon strategy, and customer requirements.
3. Lead investigations into environmental incidents, documenting facts and evidence to determine causes and develop solutions.
4. Develop, maintain and implement the review of all Environmental Management System (EMS) documentation.
5. Conduct regular site environmental checks, inspections and audits.
6. Manage and deliver environmental training courses, toolbox talks and briefing sessions.
7. Manage and recruit a team of environment advisors.
8. Experience in managing environmental sustainability initiatives.
9. Solid construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector (highways).
10. Minimum Practitioner Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership.
11. Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects/contracts in region.
