Position Summary - This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual. The role involves working within a team of accountants responsible for delivering services to a portfolio of clients. Key tasks include planning workloads (such as self-assessment tax returns, year-end company accounts, and corporation tax returns), liaising with clients, addressing technical queries, reviewing work, and providing exceptional client service. Responsibilities & Duties - Ensure the accounting team meets monthly KPIs (e.g., bank reconciliations, VAT, and payroll). Prepare self assessment tax returns. Provide personal and corporate tax advice. Prepare annual accounts. Handle HMRC queries and correspondence. Deliver excellent customer service by responding to calls, emails, and client inquiries. Promote service quality to enhance client retention and business growth. Report to senior management on individual and team performance. Essential Qualifications and Skills - The ideal candidate will be studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent experience. Experience with self assessment tax returns, year end accounts, and corporation tax. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain patient under pressure. Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in IT, including Word and Excel. Motivated, enthusiastic, and detail oriented. Ability to work towards both individual and team targets. Problem solving skills and a commitment to providing professional, accurate services. Ambitious and proactive mindset. Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate and take responsibility for team performance. Client focused approach with commercial awareness. Desirable Qualifications and Skills Previous experience with small business accounts. Familiarity with cloud accounting software.
