What you’ll bedoing:
* Support a collaborative engineering design team,working closely with the supplier for the design of a largemechanical transmission for the next generation of Royal NavySubmarines
Undertake functional design activities, modellingand analysis Produce design documentation (Tech Memo’s,interface diagrams etc.), Verification & Validation evidenceand safety justifications Support specification qualification and procurementof components, working collaboratively with suppliers Undertake peer reviews / checking to supportengineering governance activities
Your skills andexperiences:
* Experience with rotating machinery design andspecification – Gearing, Shafts, Bearings andCouplings
Experience in structural design utilising relevantsoftware packages
* Familiarity with engineering lifecycle throughconcept design, detailed design, manufacture, test &commissioning, operation anddisposal
Chartered Engineer or working towards professionalaccreditation

The Propulsionteam: As part of the Propulsion Team, you will beinvolved in the design and development of a major piece ofpropulsion plant equipment alongside specifying and supporting theprocurement of the equipment. This will be an opportunity to bepart of a new Submarine programme where you will take ownership andshape the designs throughout this exciting project. Experience inindustries such as Maritime, Defence, Aerospace, Oil and Gas orNuclear could be beneficial for this role.
