Here is your chance to work on the UK’s new high speed rail network HS2 as a Mechanical Engineer as part of the Plant Team.
You will be supporting the operation, maintenance, improvement and modification of tunnelling, underground and heavy plant.
About the Role:
• Be a general central focal point for Plant related issues i.e., breakdowns, noise management, shutdown management, required documentation (regular updates of RAMS, ITP’s, TBS etc).
• Ensure maintenance is carried out on time, downtime is scheduled, sufficient personnel both in number and competence are available to conduct works.
• Propose and see through to completion modifications and improvements to plant where necessary to improve safety and increase machine availability.
About You:
• A mechanical background with plant maintenance, welding and fabrication works and experience within the tunnelling, underground, heavy plant sector is essential.
• Excellent working knowledge of materials, specifications and industry working practices.
• A minimum bachelor’s degree (grade 2:1 minimum) in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• A proven track record of production management.
• Experience related to areas including bulk material handling, hydraulic systems, pressurised pipework, instrumentation and control, electronics and electrical systems, static and fluid design, and testing and commissioning, will be of value in this role.
