Senior Clinical Support Worker - Respiratory and Sleep Service
We are recruiting for a Senior Clinical Support Worker in the Respiratory and Sleep Service who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will play a pivotal role in our sleep diagnostic service maintaining the highest standards of care for our patients undergoing sleep assessment.
You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and excellent at communicating with patients at different levels. Computer literacy is a requirement, as your duties will include managing diagnostic devices and data input.
You will also be working with an experienced team keen to offer you support, help and guidance at any time.

Main duties of the job
You will work closely within the multidisciplinary team to support patients with suspected sleep disorders as part of their assessment. This includes performing clinical observations, setting patients up with domiciliary sleep studies and data input.
You will be responsible for the cleaning and preparation of the sleep studies equipment in line with infection control standards.
You will take part in the weekly multidisciplinary team meeting and contribute towards ongoing research, education and development activity.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training
* NVQ 3
Previous Experience
* Previous experience working in a health care setting
* Previous experience within a sleep service
Skills
* Evidence of good communication skills and ability to engage and promote good working relationships at all levels
* Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding
* Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting
* Knowledge of Lorenzo database or equivalent EPR system. Ability to interoperate and analyse straightforward tabula and graphical information
Knowledge
* Basic understanding of current NHS issues
* Awareness of strategies for maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
* General knowledge of sleep pathology and treatment
* Understanding of the role
* Knowledge of medical terminologies
